This is all assuming Spain crumbles, Russia and Turkey aren't the 2008 Greeks and Holland doesn't lose...Soccer is to unpredictable to make as many picks as you did. I think making one pick is the best, because you might get lucky. Hate to correct you but the game is Association Football - as opposed to American Football which is a strange game played solely by North Americans - or Rugby Football which is played around the world by big men with odd shaped balls. Soccer is a name invented by Americans who felt the need to steal the original name and aren't intelligent enough to cope with more than one game sharing a similar name. These tournaments are all about various "what-if" scenarios but I'm comfortable with a Germany-Holland prediction as the likely finalists and have no qualms about getting it wrong. Isn't that what NCAA Basketball brackets are all about every year?

... and one more miracle. Boring game but fascinating finish. Once again the Croats did everything right. Strong D hardly allowing any scoring opportunities, calm offense finally leading to a lead in the 119th minute. And I guess we can call the equalizer in the extra time of overtime one of the luckiest punches EVER in soccer (probably on par with Man-U's 2 extra time goals against Bayern Munich in the Champ'League finals). As much as I believed the Germans wouldn't lose another game to Croatia, you have to appreciate the spirit of Turkey. The don't fear anybody anymore now, and that's the best way to approach Germany.

The game today sucked... until the final 5 minutes of overtime. What a finish! You can't find drama like that anywhere else in sports, and this was just the quarterfinals. Man, I love football, futbol, soccer.

Croatia without Eduardo are just boring. And if nothing else this tournament has shown that any team that scores just once and thinks they have won is asking for a kick up the backside.
Croatia got what they deserved, they were technically the stronger team but didn't attack and so they lost. Good news is that Holland-Russia should be spectacular, who knows what Spain and Italy will do!!

Spain/Italy looks very good. It's too bad Romania didn't put Italy away. Go Spain and Russia. I'm pulling for Turkey to repeat what Greece did in 2004. Go underdogs!

well, if you have seen HOW Russia outplayed Sweden just 4 days ago, playing their best lineup with Arschavin for the first time this tourney, could see the potential of this team, especially offensively. Apparently the Dutch side didn't pay attention. They deserved to lose and 1-3 looks pretty favourable for them considering the Russians should have scored at least 3 more. What's the best part, is Russia plays a damn attractive offensive minded style, the are just great to watch, and at least five times this game they had jaw dropping plays that simply explain HOW England could have failed against them. On a sidenote: All e prevailing teams so far were runner up's in round robin, and all three losing squads had qualified for the quarters after game 2 already and rested their starting lineup for game 3. Makes you think ...

Russia looked solid in qualifying and has look very solid this whole tourney. I love the fact that (minus one guy that plays in Germany) all of their team plays in their domestic league. Plenty of talent in squads like CSKA Moscow, Locomotiv Moscow, and Zenit St Petersburg. Zenit won the UEFA cup. Arshavin is gone this summer, but the talent is there in the Russian League. Funny, English snobs will still talk about how great the Premiership is while turning their nose down to other leagues. That reminds me of a joke:
What's the best part about playing for the English National Football Team? Summers off!
I recognize the Premiership is a super league, but it isn't because England is supplying the superstars. Sure, there are players like Gerard, Lampard, and Rooney, but you get my point. Way to go Russia!

Russia got absolutely destroyed. From the first 5 minutes you could tell they were gonna lose big. The final statistics show they only had 1, yes ONE shot no target LMAO!.
