24 hrs Waivers rule
After cutting a player, the team making that cut is unable to resign him for 24 hours. The rest of the league first has a chance to sign him. If he is still unsigned 24 hours after he was released, the team that cut him may sign him once again.
If a player is cut as a result of a trade, no team involved in the trade (either team who traded the cut player, team who received the player, or any other parties involved in the trade who never controlled the player) can sign that player for a period of 24 hours after the player is cut (regardless of when the cut is).
For players actually involved in the trades, this applies for the entire season. So if you made a trade on Day 1 involving a player, and he is cut on day 100, you have to wait 24 hours (from the time he is cut) to claim that player.
In addition to this, if this kind of cut and sign occur from season to season, it is at the discretion of the commissioner to disallow the signing, making that player available for anyone else to sign.
It is illegal to make arrangements for a player to be cut and signed by another team as part of a trade. This applies at the time of the trade , as well as in the future after a trade. If you think that there is any question of being accused of this, please give the rest of the League 24 hours to pick up the player, before you attempt to do so. If the Commish sees fit, he can disallow the signing for 24 hours.
You simply cannot agree to cut a player for the purpose of a specific team to then pick him up, at any time for any reason. This includes the cutting of a player and subsequent immediate signing, prior to a trade, after a trade, or not involving a trade at all. Anyone attempting to do so can also lose draft picks as well as the signing being disallowed.
