AP- This years LBA draft includes what most believe to be one of the best players ever. Lebron James is the player that half of the teams in the LBA were trying to win by losing. Only one team will come away from him, and that is the Atlanta Hawks, barring any sudden urge to trade possibly the future of the LBA.
Lebron Raymone James was born December 30th, 1984 in Ohio. James came into high school with a reputation of being good. He proved that his freshman season at St. Vincent - St. Mary High School. In his freshman year Lebron dropped 20 points per game on his opponents, and added 6.2 rebounds to help his team go undefeated and win the Ohio Division 3 state title.
His sophmore year he continued where he left off, and his legacy just continued to grow. He led his team to another state title with a 27-1 record. He averaged 25.2 points per game, 7.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.8 steals. Those stats and his ability to lead also earned him Ohio Mr. Basketball and USA Today All USA First Team, the first sophmore to do both.
To no ones surprise he continued to lead and improve his junior year. He averaged improving numbers again with 29.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.3 steals per game. However, his team did not repeat as state champions, due to be moving up a class and playing much tougher competition. He was again USA Today All USA First Team, Ohio Mr. Basketball, and earned the Gatorade National Boys Basketball POY. The only thing he failed at this season was convincing the NBA to allow him to be entered into the draft a year early.
His senior year he convinced everyone he was definetly ready for the LBA jump. He led his team to a one loss season, in which they had to forfeit due to Lebron accepting gifts. He led his team back to the top with another state title. He averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.4 steals during his senior year. He was MVP of all the major high school basketball games played after the season.
After three state titles, three Ohio Mr. Basketball wins, two USA Today All USA First Team honors, and a career ending with 2,657 points, 892 rebounds and 523 assists it was the time. Lebron will be introduced by the Hawks more then likely in just over a week in the preseason sim. How will Lebron play, and what will his stats be. He coms into the LBA with a B inside, C+ inside, B- handles, B defense, C rebounding and an A potential that one can only imagine hasnt been tapped yet.
Predictions for his rookie season are already being floated around. Some are expecting him to drop 25 ppg, 6-7 rebounds a game, 5-6 apg, and a 10-15 game turnaround for the Hawks. Others are not putting so much pressure on the 18 year old. They are predicting 15-20 ppg, 4-5 rbg, and 2-3 apg with just a small improvement by the Hawks. With the team they have now one would expect inflated numbers for even someone with talent like Lebron, so it all depends on FA and how the team is handled where his numbers fall and the teams improvement. One companie that isnt worried though is Nike, who signed Lebron to a long term contract worth about 80 million a year.
