When you now attempt to access our forum or the homepage of ipbfree, it says that the domain is held by godaddy.com. My guess is that the owners of ipbfree decided to let their contract with GoDaddy run out.

ipbfree is down for good.
The post below confirms that ipbfree is gone:

What to do from here?
Well, I'm not the commish, but the first issue that needs to be solved is the gathering of all of the GMs. We certainly don't want to lose anybody, so what you can do right now is wrangle all of the GMs you know and tell them to sign in to the GM Check-In thread. I don't know if anyone has a current GM list, but if they did, it would help tremendously.
Secondly, we need to figure out what to do about forums. We could stay in these forums, as the previous issues with them (inability to send PMs, inability to sign up) seem to have gone. But there is also the option of finding something better than proboards. Again, this is something for the Commish to decide, but if you know of a good forum host, here would be a good place to suggest one.
Thirdly, we need to figure out what to do about PPs. We could consider resetting at 0. Even if that pisses some GMs off, it might be the fair thing to do, as we have no real idea what our PP count was, and people could lie about what their PP count was and get away with it. I know is sucks, but believe me, I'm the one most affected by it, as I had the most PPs in the league. But other options are available for exploration.
Fourthly (and this is optional, but I think it's essential), we need to appoint a league historian. Somebody to:
Save the GM list to their hard drive on a Notepad file.
Save the PP list to their hard drive on a Notepad file.
Save a list of the GMs' AIM addresses separated by commas for ease of invite to the chatrooms on a Notepad file and somewhere in the forums.
Update weekly.
The Commish could do it, but if he doesn't want to, somebody else would do it for a modest PP salary I'm sure. It might seem excessive, but it would avoid this situation from ever happening again. And again, this is just a suggestion, not a rule of law.
Lastly, we need to carry out all of these tasks as quickly as possible so we can get back to simming the season. As I've learned over the years, a league that's not simming is a league that's slowly dying.
Anyway, that's it. Tally-ho! ;D
